Credit: 1.0

Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12

Course No. 6675

Drawing and Design 1 is recommended for students who have a career interest in Computer-Aided Drafting, engineering, architecture, interior design, gaming and animation. Engineering Drawing and Design 1 will begin by exploring the fundamentals of mechanical drafting such as sketching, 2D drawings, 3D drawings, and dimensioning. The students will then progress to work with the latest version of the AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, and 3D Max software to produce multi-view drawings, isometric drawings, 3D modeling, product designs, dream house floor plans, and city planning. Students will import their dream house into the Autodesk 3D Max program to complete a fully rendered animated tour. Use of the laser engraver and 3D printer will be explored.

About Us

Technology Education is an integrated, experienced-based instructional program designed to prepare a population that is knowledgeable about technology – its evolution, systems, techniques, uses and social and cultural significance. It results in the application of mathematics and science concepts to develop solutions to practical problems and extend human capabilities.

Technology education is an essential component of a comprehensive and experience-based science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) program. It develops technological literacy among students by demonstrating how mathematics and science is applied to the process of engineering design.
